HONK Parade – Sunday, October 9th. Winds and Brass students will join the JP Honk Band to march in the HONK! Parade from Davis Square to Harvard Square. There will be 10,000 people in attendance! Stringfest 2016 is slated for December 3rd. Sponsored by the Celebrity Series of Boston, 30 of our string students will collaborate with students from Bridge Boston (another El Sistema program in Dorchester) and Shaw Pong Lui, Artist-in-Residence for the City of Boston in 2016. After Shaw Pong Liu (who plays violin and erhu) and Sandeep Das (an incredible Indian tabla player) perform with the youth ensembles, they will play solos and duets together; the concert will conclude with a celebration of Asian music. The concert is from 3:00p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the KROC Center in the Main Auditorium, at 650 Dudley Street in Dorchester.
